Map Library

So yesterday I went to the Map Library at Hatcher. I can't believe that in 6 years here at Michigan I had never visited this amazing resource. Tim Utter was fantastic and set up a mini workstation for me and I have a feeling I will be spending some serious time up there over the next few months.  Some of the things I will be looking at recording are the anatomy of the land in America, Immigration Chains, Population density maps over the 1800 and 1900s, Routes to Freedom in the Underground Railroad and the construction of the American West through trails, explorations, railroads, and stage coach routes.
